HEIF Converter is a free, browser-based image conversion tool. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use information when you use our website.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information we do NOT collect

• Your images or photos — these are processed entirely in your browser and never transmitted
• Personal information (name, address, phone number)
• Account credentials — we do not have user accounts

2.2 Automatically collected information

When you visit our website, we and our third-party partners may automatically collect:

• Usage data: Pages visited, time on site, browser type, operating system, referring URL
• IP address: Collected by our analytics and hosting providers for approximate geographic location and security
• Cookie data: Small files placed in your browser for analytics and advertising purposes (see Section 5)

3. How your images are processed

All HEIF/HEIC image conversion runs entirely in your web browser using a WebAssembly-based decoder (heic2any). Your files:

• Are never uploaded to any server
• Are processed only in your browser's memory
• Are automatically removed from memory when you close the tab or clear the results
• Are never transmitted to us or any third party

4. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. This service collects anonymised data including pages viewed, session duration, device type, and approximate location. Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish unique users.

Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC and subject to Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5. Google AdSense and Advertising

We display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website and other sites on the internet.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising at google.com/settings/ads.

For EU/EEA users, Google AdSense complies with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework.

We use the following types of cookies:

• Strictly necessary: Cookie consent preference (stores your accept/decline choice)
• Analytics: Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _gid, _gat) — only loaded with your consent
• Advertising: Google AdSense cookies — only loaded with your consent

You can manage cookie preferences at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the site footer. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.

7. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Google LLC — for analytics (Google Analytics) and advertising (Google AdSense)
• Vercel Inc. — our hosting provider, which processes server logs including IP addresses

8. Data retention

Analytics data is retained for 14 months by Google Analytics (the default). Cookie preferences stored in localStorage remain until you clear your browser storage. We do not retain any image data.

9. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict processing of your data
• Data portability
• Opt out of sale of personal data (we do not sell data)

10. Children's privacy

Our service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.
